Well, it should not switch too difficult, one, just need to get some additional equipment, That is all. First off I would suggest a larger tank, as your 55 gallons for a SW. What type of filter you have now? What do you need the Appropriate lighting (some things will have different lighting requirements than others) for the refractometer or hydrometer reading of the specific weight of sea salts, Reef or salt, if living coral reef and the maintenance of protein skimmer (not required for smaller tanks), several types of Filter Media than with FW (biologically Live Rock mechanical sponges and such, chemical, what would you think …. chemipure work is pretty good)-other substrate (crushed coral, live sand, aragonite)-deco like coral, Lava, limestone, etc.-powerhead or Wavemaker (good for keeping the dirt live rock and stuff)-specific feed for marine fish (ominvores, herbivores, carnivores require different types)-Trace elements are always good to use, along with buffer to help your pH at a constant level reverse – osmosis water is to use the best, but not completely necessary, I think about it I will add, if I can think of nothing else is.
